Castalloy’s R & D department is consistently looking for the latest developments in improved foundry manufacturing processes and wear part design developments for the cement manufacturing industry. Where desirable, it helps to implement any improved recent changes both throughout the manufacturing process in relevant departments and thus, throughout Castalloy’s products.Where need be, Castalloy’s R & D department also assists with thorough research through its own very comprehensive library and external sources on any matter that may be at hand. It also assists with Castalloy’s ongoing staff education programme by preparing technical documentations for staff members in all areas throughout the plant.
Castalloy’s R & D department also prepares documentations for customer assistance requirements where needed such as, technical advice and explanations regarding wear part design, technical specifications, wear part application and installation.
Castalloy has been a member of the Steel Founders' Society of America (SFSA) since 1996. Our staff members receive monthly trade magazines and regular informative trade related documents from the SFSA on the most recent developments in the global steel casting industry and related fields. Each and every year Castalloy is issued a members' certificate from the SFSA. Castalloy's R & D department is the backbone behind the firm's current preparation towards ISO 9002 recognition.
Castalloy's Computer Technology Computer technology is an integral part of Castalloy’s manufacturing procedures.Computers and recent software technologies are used extensively throughout the plant in areas such as wear part design, technical drawing analysis and calculation of wear part physical properties, pattern design and
technical calculations for pattern production, moulding, induction melting and pouring, heat treatment, material costing, tooling manufacture, material testing and quality inspection.
